Combine the beautiful embroidery technique of metal thread work with decorative surface stitches to create this elegant jay feather design.

This simple design will introduce you to working with a range of metal threads in gilt and peacock hues using the techniques of cutwork and couching, both of which are essential when creating a piece of metal thread work.  The decorative embroidery stitches in tones of blue, grey and black include split stitch, long and short stitch and applying beads.

The ivory satin background fabric is provided with the design already transferred on for you.

Materials included in the kit: calico fabric, ivory synthetic silk, size 9 embroidery needle, size 18 chenille needle, DMC stranded cotton threads, felt, gilt metal threads: pearl purl and japanese thread, peacock coloured smooth purl metal thread, antique Japanese thread, Gutermann machine thread, seed beads and beeswax.
