Bluebird Embroidery Company Watering Can Pin Cushion

This charming pin cushion project is the perfect introduction to the beautiful three-dimensional embroidery technique of Stumpwork.

This embroidery is one of ten designs which are featured in the book Stumpwork Embroidery: Techniques And Projects, written by Helen Richman of The Bluebird Embroidery Company. 

This simple design will introduce you to a small number of Stumpwork embroidery stitches and techniques including fly stitch, split stitch, buttonhole stitch, long and short stitch, couching , fabric painting and creating 3D embroidered petals and leaves with wire edges.

While this kit accompanies the Stumpwork Embroidery book, it is not necessary to have a copy in order to complete the design; this kit includes all of the threads, fabrics, wires, fabric paints, needles and templates required to complete this pretty pin cushion which is nestled within the mini watering can provided. The clear instruction booklet with step by step photographs will guide you easily through your project.

Materials included in the kit: silk ribbons, DMC stranded cotton threads, calico fabric, green cotton fabric with pre-printed design template, felt, size 9 embroidery needle, size 7 embroidery needle, size 16 chenille needle, cake wire, button thread, green and pink fabric paints, toy stuffing, templates and mini watering can.
