Soie d'Alger 45 metre Hanks by Au Ver a Soie

Soie d'Alger (pronounced Swah Doll-Zhay) silk is a 7 strand spun silk that is loosely plyed and can be easily split.  It is suitable for all forms of hand embroidery and tapestry.  Soie d'Alger is made of the best quality spun silk which gives it an unrivalled regularity, lustre and softness. 

We carry the 45 metre hanks in different shades of red. These are mainly for the Bristol Orphanage Samplers by Hands Across the Sea. If you would like a colour that is not listed please let us know and we will be happy to order it in for you.
