Zweigart Royal Mono Canvas 18 Count

This is an excellent quality Zweigart mono canvas, a single-threaded canvas in 18 count Antique. Mono canvas is a strong, even, openly woven fabric with clearly visible holes in it. Single or mono canvas is suitable for most projects and is woven with the same number of threads per inch in both warp and weft.

Students at the Royal School of Needlework generally work on 18 count canvas for small designs. This is quite a fine canvas and allows a lot of detail to be put into the work. 

The RSN recommend using antique colour canvas.  The more neutral colour of antique canvas is far easier to cover with stitches than a bright white canvas. However, if you were working a project with a lot of light colours in it then the opposite would be true and a white canvas would be more forgiving to use.
