Benton & Johnson 1451 Thread

Benton & Johnson 1451 Couching thread has a gold or silver metal strip wrapped around a silk core. The metal is wrapped sparsely so a lot of the black shows through. This thread is very similar to the Gilt Silk Twists used in 17th Century reproduction work except it is a lot thicker.

Priced by the metre. Multiple metres of the same thread will be one continuous piece.
